What happens when you mix a crazy drummer/producer with a Swedish accent
and an unhealthy obsession with pop punk? Apparently, Sorry In Advance.
Hampus and Boomer are the two halves behind the Swedish-Canadian pop punk
band built in Vancouver. Both write. Both bring the hooks. Both bring the
melodies. And once an idea gets going, neither seems particularly interested
in slowing down.
Hampus brings the Swedish accent, guitars, and vocals. Boomer brings the
drums and production. Somewhere between the two of them, songs have a habit
of getting written very fucking quickly.
Born out of heartbreak, major life changes, and a shared drive to make music
they actually wanted to hear, Sorry In Advance came together fast. Songs
became demos. Demos became records. A few songs became an album in the works.
The entire project is built in-house, with Hampus and Boomer writing and
creating together and Boomer producing and recording everything at Glory
Wreck Chords Studio.
The first song completed for the project was “3:23 AM.” It became their debut
single and set everything in motion. When they heard those first songs coming
back through the studio monitors, there was really only one appropriate
response: “F*ck, this is it.”
Sorry In Advance. You’ll understand the name eventually.
